The Mt. Kenya Innovation week 2.0 awards increased from 5,000 USD last year to 10,000 USD for which we are grateful to our partners. We were able to award 3000 USD to the top 3 innovators.

The awards went to;

Soctrify
Soctrify is an innovation project that works towards utilizing noise from factories, posho mills, speakers and clubs to generate electricity. In factories, noise is mostly reduced by enclosing machines which channel noise away from the workers. Rather than this noise being wasted, it can be used to produce useful energy which can be used in the factory. Electrical energy can be stored for future use which is economical. Cheap resources can be used in doing this which is how Soctrify benefits the community as it uses a loudspeaker as the transducer to convert vibrations into
electrical energy.

Alpine Agribuz Limited
Alpine Agribuz is a venture by one of the visionary entrepreneurs in Nyeri who process avocado oil and uses their by-products to make briquettes and avocado seed tea powder. To note is that all the machines used to do all these processes are manufactured by the entrepreneur locally in their warehouse.

CBC Pro
CBC pro is a solution that is solving the decentralization of CBC resources as well as the Scarcity of CBC resources by providing a platform where every child can get affordable, standard and quality CBC resources under one roof.

CAi
CAi is an AI-powered wearable device that aims to reduce the deaths and fatalities like accidents caused by seizures. It works as a security measure. It uses the vitals of the wearer and the body movements to detect whether the person is about to have or is having a seizure and notifies him or her prior so that they could seek help or find a safe place to relax if the condition they
were in puts them in danger and they can be safe when the seizure attacks. The device also alerts the loved ones of choice or the closest person to the patient so that they can check on them. This targets epilepsy patients and people suffering from chronic illnesses like heart problems and diabetes.
