VIRTUAL LEARNING WEBINAR
Role of Youth in Advancing Regenerative Practices, Circular Farming and Circularity for Green Job Creation
VIRTUAL LEARNING WEBINAR
Promoting Innovations Networking Climate Action for Youth (PINCA-Y) is an initiative implemented by Mt. Kenya Innovations Hub in Kenya’s Nakuru County, with a focus on empowering young people to actively participate in climate action through enterprise development. The program currently supports over 300 youths engaged in 26 youthled enterprises operating at the intersection of ecological restoration and the circular economy. These enterprises are contributing to sustainable livelihoods while addressing environmental challenges such as land degradation, waste management, and climate change.

Innovations Hub in Kenya’s Nakuru County, with a focus on empowering young people to actively participate in
climate action through enterprise development. The program currently supports over 300 youths engaged in 26 youthled
enterprises operating at the intersection of ecological restoration and the circular economy. These enterprises are
contributing to sustainable livelihoods while addressing environmental challenges such as land degradation, waste
management, and climate change.
Now in the third year, PINCA-Y has evolved from a program primarily focused on enterprise incubation into a broader
ecosystem-building platform bringing together stakeholders in restoration and agricultural circular economy space. This
transition reflects a growing recognition that youth-led climate solutions require not only technical and financial support
but also strong partnerships, knowledge exchange and coordinated action among diverse stakeholders. The inaugural
coalition-building meeting held in 2024 laid the foundation for this ecosystem approach by bringing together over 50
partners from across sectors to explore collaboration opportunities.
Building on this momentum, the second Coalition-Building Meeting was held in November 2025 at Nairobi, bringing
together over 60 stakeholders from government, private sector, development partners, research institutions and youthled
enterprises. The convening aimed to deepen partnerships, strengthen ecosystem linkages and co-create a shared
framework for collaboration, knowledge exchange and collective action in advancing circular economy and restoration
initiatives. One of the key highlights of the meeting was the presentation of research findings on job creation within the
circular economy for food systems in Sub-Saharan Africa, which provided critical insights into the role of youth,
circular and regenerative agroecology, market systems and financing in driving green employment.
