FarmLife Health Services Ltd: Building a Complete Ecosystem forSmallholder Farmers
Agriculture rarely fails in isolation. When smallholder farmers struggle, it is often becausethey lack access not to one thing but to many: quality inputs, financial services, technicalknowledge, and reliable markets. FarmLife Health Services Ltd, based in Nakuru andparticipating in the PINCA-Y 2026 cohort, has built its enterprise model around solving allof these challenges together. The enterprise supplies certified tree seedlings, offersagronomic training across value chains including dairy and beekeeping, promotesagroforestry, and connects farmers to financing through their Sacco. By weaving theseservices together into a coherent offering, FarmLife is not just serving farmers. It is buildingan ecosystem within which they can genuinely thrive.
The dual focus on land restoration and income creation is particularly important.Agroforestry and tree seedling production contribute to the rehabilitation of degraded land, improving soil health and water retention over time. At the same time, the enterprise'sconnections to dairy value addition, markets and financing ensure that the farmers theywork with are building economic security alongside ecological resilience. This integrationof environmental and livelihoods outcomes is exactly the kind of thinking that the circulareconomy demands, and FarmLife is delivering it in practice.
FarmLife Health Services Ltd is one of 26 enterprises in the PINCA-Y 2026 cohort, aprogram implemented by Mt Kenya Hub with the support of DanChurchAid Kenya. We areproud to feature an enterprise that understands the interconnected nature of thechallenges facing smallholder farmers and has built a model comprehensive enough tomeet them. We look forward to seeing FarmLife continue to grow the communities andlandscapes it serves.
