WadPro: Redefining Waste as Opportunity Through BSF Farming andTraining
WadPro, whose full name Wadudu ni Protein captures its founding philosophy, is anenterprise that sees protein where others see waste. Founded by Charity Kelsy andparticipating in the PINCA-Y 2026 cohort, WadPro leverages Black Soldier Fly (BSF)farming to produce wet larvae for animal feed and frass organic fertiliser, contributing tocircular economy solutions within the agricultural sector. The enterprise operates on theunderstanding that organic waste streams are not a problem to be managed but a resourceto be harnessed, and it does so with a level of technical focus and entrepreneurial energythat has quickly established it as a noteworthy player in Kenya's growing BSF farmingspace.
What makes WadPro particularly distinctive is its commitment to knowledge sharing.Beyond production, the enterprise offers training and consultancy services to equip otherfarmers and entrepreneurs with the skills and confidence to adopt BSF farmingthemselves. This multiplier effect means that WadPro's impact extends far beyond its ownoperations. Every farmer or entrepreneur trained through WadPro carries the potential toestablish their own circular production model, expanding the reach of sustainableagriculture across the region. For Charity, this sharing of knowledge is not just a serviceline. It is part of the mission.
WadPro is one of 26 enterprises participating in the PINCA-Y 2026 cohort, a programimplemented by Mt Kenya Hub with the support of DanChurchAid Kenya. We are proud tosupport Charity Kelsy's vision and to champion an enterprise that is not only producingcircular economy solutions but actively working to build the ecosystem of knowledge andpractice that makes those solutions sustainable at scale.
